Mr. Scott Forrester

Police composite from Thallassa IV of unknown suspect
wanted  for  Fraud, Assault with a Deadly Weapon,
and Conspiracy to Subvert an Officer of the State.

Scott was born to an upper, middle class family on Totan III. He was the second of three children born to Gregory & Mikhaila Forrester. He was preceded by Thomas Forrester, his older brother, and followed by Alexa Forrester, his younger sister.

Totan III is a progressive world located on one of the major trade routes deep in the Orion reaches. It is one of 4 inhabited worlds in the Totan system. Relatively well off from trading and with several prominent spaceports, the Totan system sees travellers from a large portion of the of the human reaches and samples much of the culture and technology of the rest of the systems. For the most part its inhabitants are well off, income is fairly high, and higher education or training in skilled trades are the norm for its citizens. The system is governed by a combined political body made up of democratically elected officials representing the citizens and guild/union representatives representing the businesses and special interests.

On Totan III Scott had a fairly happy childhood. Always ready to make friends he had a quick mind and a ready wit. A hard worker he excelled in his courses and followed his older brother into one of the more prestigious colleges in the Totan system. There he trained in business with minors in cultural studies and technology. He hoped that with this background he might get a position in one of the many companies specializing in the development and sales of cutting edge technology. Graduating amongst the
top of his class he was rewarded beyond his

hopes. After holding a position with a prominent local starship design company for 2 years he was approached by a headhunter for the Oberst-Sterling Consortium.  It seems that the company he  was working for was owned  by OSC and they had noticed his work. Scott was offered a position with the OSC Hephaestus division, a section specializing in the sale of new small and medium scale armaments and defenses for civilian and military use.

Over the next 7 years Scott climbed through the ranks of the Hephaestus Division, eventually becoming head of its sales and marketing branch. During that time he had little time for personal life, sacrificing it for his drive to excel within the corporation. Still Scott was well liked by the other members of the divisions, those other company personnel he came into contact with, and by his contacts and customers. He earned a reputation for being reliable and fair despite the hard bargain he could extract. Scott also attracted the attention of the Hephaestus division head, Kenji Sho, who began to groom Scott as his successor. It was also during this time Scott that met Kendra McCastle, an employee for Bio-Pharm, another subsidiary of OSC. Of mixed descent, Kendra had struggled to leave behind her past on the Grendel worlds. Like Scott she chose to sacrifice her personal life to her advancement within the company. Meeting during one of the occasional collaborations between their two companies. Scott and Kendra sensed a bond between themselves. They formed a close but casual friendship, each respecting that the other could not commit to anything further but enjoying each others company when it was convenient to their personal agendas.

Unfortunately as Scott progressed he also drew the attention of Mark Scanan, head of the Zeus Division of OSC, specializing in large scale armaments for ship and planetary warfare. Together with the Demeter Division, specializing in large scale defensive systems, the Zeus and Demeter Divisions made up more than 70% of the OSC's direct military-related business. Mark watched the younger Scott making his way through the ranks of the Hephaestus Division and saw a rival to be taken care of before Scott could threaten Mark’s
plans to take over the three divisions, merging them under Mark’s authority. Among other positions Mark had planted employees loyal to himself within the Hephaestus Division’s weapons research section. He arranged for a fatal flaw within the control system of an experimental weapon developed jointly by researchers from  Bio-Pharm and the Hephaestus Division. Because it was a new system which had just begun marketing to OSC various military customers. Scott retained control of the initial sales campaign. During a demonstration of the weapon the systems were compromised by Mark’s personnel and the weapon went out of control, killing several prominent military personnel and over a hundred soldiers. Scott was then framed by Mark as the scapegoat.

The trial took two years. During that time Mark tried to prove that Scott had pushed the production of the new weapon beyond the bounds of safety. Scott was placed on “Executive Leave” from OSC, without any real duties but with pay and benefits still in place. Realizing his position he tried to leverage the time and those connections he had to both try to find proof of the set-up and to secure his future once the almost inevitable came to pass. Scott was never able to find the definitive proof he sought but neither was Mark able to push through the charges. In the end Scott’s lawyers prevailed and Scott was found not guilty, but the controversy and stigma of the accident and the trial ended his career with OSC.

The night Scott arrived home from the sentencing he was attacked by a pair of assassins sent by Mark to finish what the legal procedures could not take care of. Scott had too much knowledge and Mark had become personally invested in erasing what had become a failure. Luckily Scott had always prided himself on knowing how all of his products worked. He was able to finish off the assassins using weaponry he kept concealed on his person and systems he had placed within his domicile. Even better, Mark had made a mistake in hiring the assassins. There was a possible link. Not enough for proof, but enough the Scott was able to leverage Mark’s uncertainty into blackmail. If Mark would leave him alone, Scott would not expose the connection and bring embarrassment or worse to Mark. Hinting at knowledge of other questionable dealings connected to Mark, Scott was able to strike an agreement; He would leave OSC to Mark, and not pursue employment with any of it’s current competitors (who would not likely hire a disgraced renegade now anyway) and Scott’s contacts would not release the materials he had given them. In turn Mark would leave him the hell alone. This truce has held up to now, at least on the surface, because Mark is still unsure of what Scott knows and who he may have trusted with the claimed evidence.

After that Scott left for the fringes. He now

works as a mercenary and agent for hire with the HAVOC agency. When on missions he acts as the teams negotiator and diplomat. However he is also a combat worthy member of the group. Like all other aspects of his life Scott is determined that if this is to be his new job then he will do it well. He has taken courses in combat and tactics from the best trainers he can find. Combined with an intimate knowledge of weapons and defensive
systems, he acts as support and heavy ordinance for the the other members. He has also taken courses in piloting and acts as the groups dropship pilot away from their interstellar ship the CSS Wayward Bastard. Finally, he has also been known to act as a decoy and man inside when needed, infiltrating hostage-takers and acting as an eye into their actions for the other members.
